Safari Day 3, Part Two

After my lion scare, we drove through herds of wildebeests that began growing thicker and thicker and thicker until we could barely get down any of the Mara Reserve's dirt/grassy trails. The guides kept insisting we had to hurry up to get to "the river" and that we needed to stop stopping so much. When we arrived at the river, the Mara Triangle, we saw why. The wildebeest migration had truly reached the area, and the wildebeests were crossing the river, despite a few crocodiles and hippos below. I will let my mother describe the rest. It was absolutely unbelievable. We must have seen 50,000-plus wildebeests in the Mara that day.
